Gymnastics, Moves and Grooves super event
Gymnaestrada Joensuu will be largest and most spectacular gymnastics event in Finland, which will attract gymnast who like to perform and compete and discover new ways to stay active, healthy, and happy. Gymnaestrada will take over Joensuu in June 2026, bringing to the streets an energy and rhythm for gymnasts and anyone else who likes to move and have fun with others. So, let’s get moving – Gymnaestrada will be the most active, tun-filled summer festival!
National Gymnaestrada Festival with international friends
Festival for everybody, regardless of gender, age, ability or social standing.
Long traditions, every fourth year in different cities in Finland (.. in Turku 2018, Tampere 2022, Joensuu 2026).
We expect to have 10.000 – 12.000 participants, app. 50 % Children and Youth, and 90% girls and women.
The Festival is like World Gymnaestrada – plus has competitions in all gymnastic disciplines, too.
Meeting place for top-athletes, amateurs, and gymnastic-enthusiasts of all ages.
Generations together – whole Gymnastics family together.
Also, international gymnasts, groups, teams are most welcome!
Festival Program
There will be Opening, Competitions in all Disciplines, City Performances (Outdoor Stage), Evening Performances, Large Group Performances (= Closing), Gymnastics/Skills Arena for Children, Gymnastics lessons, Festival Square Sales & Entertainment Area etc.

Thu June 4th: Arrivals, Opening, Performances & Competitions
Fri June 5th: Competitions, Performances (Stage, Evening, LGP-rehearsals), Entertainment etc.
Sat June 6th: Competitions, Performances (Stage, Evening, LGP-rehearsals), Entertainment etc.
Sun June 7th: Competitions, Stage Performances, Closing (LGP-Performance), Departures
(Mon June 8th: Optional day for Departures)
Participation & Costs
Participant Card: Every participant needs a Participant Card (prices will be fixed during Spring 2025)
Accommodation: Schools and Hotels (there will be different options and price categories available)
Meals: different kinds of event options, and local restaurants
Tickets: For Evening Performances etc.
Insurance: Every participant is responsible for her/his all insurances.
The Finnish Gymnastics Federation or the LOC will not be held responsible for any liabilities in case of accidents, illness, repatriation etc.
Safeguarding: There will be a Safeguarding Officer to contact in case of harassment and abuse etc. This will be communicated later.
